Third Announcment: May 17

We invite everyone who is interested in dense matter to Montreal this summer. This conference aims to foster collaboration between nuclear physicists, both theorists and experimentalists, and astrophysicists. We will start with introductory talks. We encourage nuclear physicists who are interested in astrophysics, astrophysicists who want to know more about nuclear physics, and junior scientists to attend. This conference follows the 2004 Philadelphia workshop on the nuclear equation of state.

The conference program is now available at the conference website (see left navigation bar). While the talk sessions are full, we anticipate having some space for late abstracts in the poster session. We encourage attendance by non-presenting but subject-oriented researchers. Scheduled sessions include: Dense Matter Theory, Neutron Star Masses and Radii, Neutron Star Cooling, Laboratory Experiments, and Explosive Events for Probing High Density/Nuclear Physics.

We call your attention to our early registration deadline (June 4), after which conference registration will increase from $100 to $130. Graduate students who register prior to the early registration deadline receive a discounted registration fee of $50.

Blocks of rooms are reserved at two conference hotels (see "Accomodations") through June 4th, after which they will be released. As the conference overlaps with the enormously popular Montreal Jazz Festival, rooms may become dearer and dearer as the conference date approaches. The conference site and hotels are a few minutes walk from the festival site.

We are planning a delicious conference banquet at a delightful local Montreal restaurant. If you wish to attend, it is critically important to reserve your space before the early registration deadline. The cost is $60 (Canadian) and will include wine and a vegetarian option. We anticipate having only a few spare tickets at the conference available to registrants, due to the cozy atmosphere of this bistro.

We look forward to seeing you in Montreal,
Charles Horowitz (Indiana)
Bob Rutledge (McGill)
